My name is Keith Taft and I am a resident at Egret Cove Rehabilitation center in St Petersburg, Florida. (I was transferred to Angel Care Assisted Living after the ombudsman showed up with a police officer after contacting the link below)

Janice is an older friend I made here at Egret Cove and David is my roommate.

I am not sure what to do about what apparently happened to them. It just caused the head nurse to tell me to leave (around 8:30 pm - 9pm) after I began yelling at her because Janice was crying. The nurse yelled at me first.

Two nights earlier (I believe it was Sunday night / Monday morning) David told me he was just raped as two nurses were cleaning and shaving him.

Janice apparently fell and injured her face with a big bruise on the side of her head.

But one evening she was being taken back to her room for bed time and was crying and she told me they were going to close the door to her room on me and beat her.

I don't know if she just imagined it or what. Janice and David are both a little confused sometimes, as am I.

It would be easy if I complain for all 3 of us to be gas-lighted.

This isn't the first time I've had to ask for help from the Elder abuse hotline. Back in Van Buren, Maine during the pandemic, a friend named Alphena told me she had been kicked and punched by nurses for going into some kind of room that was off limits or something. I filed two reports with elder services but as far as I know nothing happened they would not tell me who the nurses were. But then Alphena told me a guy who worked there punched her twice in the head. I became enraged and wrote something mean on Borderview Nursing and Rehabs FB page and 3 days later Robert, the nursing home's manager put his resignation letter on the FB page. After that no one bothered Alphena again, but I found out later in the pandemic they stopped covid testing visitors, then covid spread throughout the nursing home Alphena caught it and recovered but according to her sister stopped eating completely and starved to death while I was not allowed to visit her.

 Our neighbor used to work at the nursing home and told me who to contact.

I asked Google's AI Gemini what to do and Gemini advised me to contact 3 places to report elder abuse - immediately - and because I am in a vulnerable position here, to contact outside agencies first.

David's side of the room:

Someone has to keep watching on me because I left - after who I thought was the head nurse told me to leave. I was glad to because I really wanted a cigarette.

Esmerelda had just braided Janice's hair then she pointed out the marks on Janice's forearm to me.

A police officer and a representative from DHS came to my room and they interviewed David and I and they said they would talk to Janice, who later mentioned something about the police to me.

All I really wanted was someone to check on them and make a record of it in case something happened to them later, and it looks like they did, thank you !

Back in Van Buren, when I had contacted elder abuse, I found out the lady in charge of it was the COO of the nursing home corporation, and it was she who took over control of the nursing home after Robert resigned.

This needs to be looked into in all jurisdictions if there is collusion between nursing home corporations and the elder abuse oversight organizations.
