1973

1973, from my point of view, was about Ms Vaillancourt. That's what I called her because she was my landlady. Her first name was Simone.

I changed her name in the poem to Simona because I was certain Ms Vaillancourt would come into my apartment while I was out and I feared she would get angry at me for the poem.

I was mad at her when I wrote it around the Fall of 2006, because I hadn't latched the windows properly and warm air was escaping in the late fall and she kind of (actually very nicely) let me know she was not pleased.

- Simone

The notebook I believe I wrote 1973 in went missing in Ms Vaillancourt's apt (98 Main St., first floor, first apt on the right) and one of the ideas I had drawn in it were for a cart with 3 wheels on each side around a radial arm wheel for moving stuff up stairs. I had just moved my stuff from Ms Vaillancourt's Washington Street apartment to 98 Main a few months before.

Ads for these carts started showing up on TV a few years later:

Cart Wayfair

This was another idea I had mentioned in the notebook:

- Coat With Built In Backpack.

1973

Simona

You're getting older

Your journey's been

Etched on your skin

Simona

Wish I had known that

What seemed so strong

Has been and gone

I would call you up every Saturday night

And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light

And we sang, "Here we go again"

And though time goes by

I will always be

In a club with you

In 1973

Singing "Here we go again"

Simona

Wish I was sober

So I could see clearly now

The rain has gone

Simona

I guess it's over

My memory plays our tune

The same old song

I would call you up every Saturday night

And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light

And we sang "Here we go again"

And though time goes by

I will always be in a club with you in 1973

Singing "Here we go again"

I would call you up every Saturday night

And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light

And we sang "Here we go again"

And though time goes by

I will always be in a club with you in 1973

Singing "Here we go again"

I would call you up every Saturday night

And we'd both stay out 'til the morning light

And we sang "Here we go again"

And though time goes by

I will always be in a club with you in 1973

Singing "Here we go again"

And though time goes by

I will always be

In a club with you

In 1973
