The Barn Kitchen and Bar at the Williams Inn Google Maps.
The Williams Inn has a storied past buried in this, it's third incantation as an eatery and well equipped place of lodging. Cousin Jimmy's JH Maxymillian did the site work and the Barn might have been ispired by the restaurant and musical performing space of the same name in South Williamstown, near Mt Hope Farm.
Hear my humble testimonial which arizes from having worked in the kitchen of the 2nd Williams Inn when the former Officer Obie from Arlo Guthrie's 'Alice's Restaurant' was moonlighting as the 2nd shift head chef there. The selections I sampled were top-drawer. Just pass on the ratatoullie.
What is in a name ? In Mezze's case it is the type of restaurant it is. Sounded like a hangout for teens complete with pinball machines and video games when I first heard of it - and perhaps it is but here in the hamlet it is fine dining. Bring your snootful of uppity as it has a welcoming vibe here when we go all in on arguably the best the town and perhaps the county has to offer.
I remember it as the River House, where Nikos used to come and eat on the weekends. Hearty American fare with a touch of glib in the cheerful, cozy decor. The waitresses were always charming and funny and the house bar excelled. Became hooked on reubens because of this restaurant.
'Owners Eric & Hannah [Reinhard] welcome you to their creation, Water Street Grill. Join them as they strive to maintain this 100+ year old historic establishment that is as old as the history of craft brew itself. This building has satisfied road-weary travelers and locals since the turn of the century. Now in their third decade of ownership, they happily continue their commitment to create and serve mouth-watering, naturally prepared comfort dishes along-side a variety of craft brews. Visit, relax and enjoy.'
Fast and tasty screams the light ultra light bulb idea for breakfast coffee hot and fresh a danish a dash of dinner roll and margarine. Well, we came, we conquered, we had toast and avocado they'll remember this day as we long for faster, better, more but really we just wanted a complacent, satiated tummy and got it.
'The Cozy Corner Restaurant in Williamstown, MA, has a history rooted in serving the community since 1989. Owned by Jim and Rebecca Alimonos, it's known for its family-friendly atmosphere, full-service bar, and takeout menu featuring fresh seafood, pasta, sandwiches, homemade pizza, and Pat Kelley's famous fish and chips. The restaurant is a popular spot for various occasions, including birthdays, brunch, dinner dates, and family gatherings.'
Richard Marinick was one of the 8 heavily armed Massachusetts State Police officers who tried to hold up the National Bank on Main Street in Williamstown when Officer John McConnell spotted them and tried to stop the robbery.
Dave and I ran into Officer McConnell at the Cozy Corner one morning about a week later where he gave us a humorous report of what happened, saying he wasn't sure if he presented less of a target standing sideways or forward because he claimed to be overweight!
